Festival development is an over-arching theme for the whole of the Coracle programme. Arts festivals are perceived as the ideal showcase for professional development of creative practice and crucial to the impact and financial benefit of cultural tourism to the regions.
Much of the successful work established through performance exchanges as part of literary initiatives is being reproduced in other disciplines. These activities are exemplified by the Irish Welsh collaborative creation of Cabaret Celtaidd which will be taking place in Carmarthen’s Lyric Theatre in Spring 2012.
Other examples of building of festivals include the professional development of a new theatre company Bandwagon who toured their show from the student led Ffrinj festival in Carmarthen to Wexford and the Edinburgh Fringe in summer 2011
On 29 June -1 July 2012 Coracle is a partner along with Literature Wales and the National Trust in the inaugural Dinefwr Literature Festival at which performance and exhibition will showcase the results of development in many projects carried out by Coracle over the previous two years.
