Laying the Foundations (Day 1)
Wexford County Council's Arts Department has organised this course as part of the Work It! Youth Theatre Development Programme.
How do you introduce basic drama skills and group skills to young people who have never done drama before? This course explores some of the exercises and techniques that form part of an introductory programme for new youth theatre members and will provide material for youth theatre leaders to use at the beginning of each youth theatre year. Participants will take part in practical workshops and ‘discussion sessions’ to allow them to interrogate the work from the facilitator’s perspective.
DAY ONE - Building your group: drama basics and group dynamics.
DAY TWO - Introducing improvisation

For Who? Beginners / intermediate - youth theatre leaders, senior youth theatre members, youth workers, youth drama facilitators from different contexts. You should have some practical experience of drama workshops to take part in this course.
