Coracle

Coracle is a partnership led by University of Wales Trinity Saint David with Wexford campus IT Carlow, Wexford Arts Centre and the County Councils of Carmarthenshire and Wexford. This programme of cross border activities develops higher-level skills to increase employability and commercial competitiveness among Creative Practitioners in South East Ireland and South West Wales. The Foundation of this development is the provision of courses from higher and further education partners.

I'm a poet and a fiction writer from Co.Galway in Ireland. I'm currently studying for my second MA, this time in Professional Art Management.

Take one Friday night theatre venue, with candles at each table. Add mellow lights across a stage, a singer, a piano player and some unexpected guests. Put them all into the newly-vamped Wexford Arts Centre theatre on the last Friday night of each month, and you’ve got THE CÁCA MILIS CABARET – the South East’s most exciting live review, on the go since January 2009.Hostess and coordinator Helena Mulkerns is a former co-host of The Clumsy Cabaret in New York’s Sin’é Café, and the evening provides a similar live, mellow alternative for those seeking some cutting edge music and performance.

Wexart is an artist led initiative, which seeks to set up an exhibition and studio space in Wexford Town. Its main aims and goals are to: Establish a safe space for art practitioners – artist, writers, and curators – and provide a platform for experimental new art forms that are not normally represented by more established or commercial galleries. To create a dynamic space that is collectively run by and for the artists but also accessible to the public. To help promote art making as a valuable tool for community and social development.
